Sulu - the headless CMS for enterprise applications

Developed for the requirements of companies

Unlike most well-known CMSs, Sulu was developed from the outset for use with large corporate websites. This is particularly evident in the seamless merging of data and content. For example, product information can be managed as structured, abstract data and then very easily combined with editorial content on the website.

In addition to typical web content, Sulu can also be used to develop real applications and then integrate them into an Internet portal. A typical example is interactive product configurators that allow users to search for a desired solution interactively.

An open interface architecture is one of the centrepieces of the system. This allows data to be imported from external sources as well as made available externally. The integration of PIM, ERP, CRM or other IT solutions in the company is therefore easy to implement.

Part of a huge PHP community thanks to Symfony

Sulu may be a niche product in the CMS market, but it still has one of the largest developer communities. This is because the system is based entirely on Symfony, the PHP framework with the most developers worldwide. Put simply, every developer is also a Sulu developer!

This allows a high degree of independence from the product manufacturer and the implementation partner. The comprehensive documentation - for both Symfony and Sulu - guarantees efficient familiarisation with existing projects.

Sulu Building Blocks
Sulu's system architecture has been developed for the construction and operation of modern web portals.

Headless, but without the overheads

Headless CMSs are more in demand today than ever before, as they allow structured data maintenance and content to be displayed in any channel. This freedom is noticeable in the complexity, which is reflected not least in the project budgets and maintenance costs.

Sulu has a clever solution to this problem. All content is stored in a structured manner and can be accessed via an API, as is typical for a headless CMS. However, a comprehensive HTML rendering engine is also available for output via a browser. Web publication is therefore extremely simple, and content can be easily played out on other channels at any time.

Flexible and efficient thanks to open source

IT solutions in the enterprise environment are typically expensive and slow. But not Sulu, because the CMS is 100% open source. This means that the project budget can be fully invested in the development of customised solutions - there are no licence fees.

Companies that rely on open technologies have another advantage: because the code is available as open source, they can draw on a large developer community. This secures the long-term further development of the core technology and thus the investment.

Sulu Agency - Everything important at a glance

What is Sulu CMS?

A CMS (Content Management System) is software that can be used to create, edit and manage digital content, for example for websites. The CMS Sulu is particularly designed for the creation of complex website architectures or multi-language, scalable web projects that require a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.

What is a headless CMS?

A headless CMS, also known as a "decoupled CMS", is a content management system that only exists as a backend. The headless CMS uses an API to make data completely visible without a connected front-end level. The special thing about headless CMS such as Sulu is that content can be stored in a structured manner, retrieved and played out via various channels.

What advantages does an open source CMS offer?

In contrast to many common CMSs, Sulu is open source, i.e. available without any licence fees. This not only offers the user the advantage that more resources are available for development, but also that users have access to a global developer community that provides support.
